Ashton Gate has seen mixed fortunes this campaign in the English second division. The Robins' play-off hopes have evaporated after four defeats in five games, a run that cost Struber his job. Roy Hodgson, at 78 years of age, has taken the reins on an interim basis until the end of the campaign. The side's 2-1 win over Charlton on Good Friday gave Hodgson the perfect start on his return stint to the club. However, the task of ending their campaign on a high note remains quite significant after their playoff slump. Their home record this season is decent (ten wins in 20 home games), but the squad’s confidence clearly needs rebuilding.

Chris Wilder's Sheffield United are in rather concerning form at the moment with no victory whatsoever in their past five league games. The side have however comfortably abandoned the drop zone following a 3-3 draw with Swansea on Good Friday in which they came from 3-0 down. A result that effectively sums up their inconsistency this season. Earlier in the campaign, United were involved in relegation-level battles, but have since stabilised under Wilder. They have lighter relegation pressure heading into this fixture, which could free them up to play their natural game away from Bramall Lane.
