Leverkusen have made themselves familiar faces in the DFB cup over recent years and has earned them the experience and confidence of a side that knows how to navigate knockout football. Under the management of Kasper Hjumland, they appear to have turned their form around since the turn of the year in hopes of getting into UEFA Champions League places. However, their latest fixture which ended in a narrow 2-1 defeat at home to Augsburg has now complicated that push. As such, the Bay faithful will be hopeful they can at least attain cup glory to close out a tough campaign.

Vincent Kompany's Bayern have arguably been the best side in Europe since the start of this campaign, putting out a number of impressive performances over their domestic and continental campaigns. The latest casualty being European royalty Real Madrid who they dispatched convincingly over both ties of their dual-legged quarter-final tie. With Borussia Dortmund already slipping up in the title race, the Bavarians would be keen on taking important steps towards another treble campaign after the illustrious 2019/2020 season. Bayern have won six of their eight DFB Cup meetings with Leverkusen and their squad depth remains the best in German football.
